
Veronica was born in southern Mexico and grew up in Corpus Christi. She has grown up and embraced two different cultures and travels to Mexico to visit her extended family. After graduating from Mary Carroll High School, she went on to Del Mar College and then to Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1999 and her Masters of Science Degree in Counseling in 2001.
While completing her Master's degree, she worked with children and their families as a Family Liaison at the ECDC at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi while also completing her hours for her LPC. In 2002, she worked with FEMA and Nueces County MHMR in providing crisis services to families that were affected by flooding in Nueces and surrounding counties. Later in 2003, she moved to Dallas to provide counseling services to Spanish speaking victims of crime, and to adolescents and their parents in a First Offenders' Program.
For almost 10 years, Veronica has worked as an assessment counselor in one of our local hospitals providing confidential assessments on individuals suffering different mental health issues and assisting with admission or referrals to appropriate outpatient resources. She has also worked in private practice with psychiatrists and psychologists in different capacities, either by providing counseling services or assessing individuals for disability applications.
Veronica counsels individuals, children and families using an eclectic approach to therapy, from solution-focused therapy to cognitive behavioral therapy. She wants to help the client to help him/herself reach his/her full potential. She speaks Spanish fluently and is eager to counsel those individuals that only speak Spanish and want to seek counseling services.
